Brooke was born on May 5, 1985, in Emporia, KS to Randy and Brenda (Mark Koenck) Saxton.  She lived the majority of her life in Sioux City, IA, and baptized into her Christian faith at a young age.  She graduated from North High in Sioux City where she was successful in fast pitch softball. She went 2 years of college at the University of Nebraska before returning to Sioux City to finish her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Morningside College and earned a master’s degree in Human Resource Management at Briar Cliff University.

She was employed in Sioux Falls, SD for 5 years before returning to Sioux City.  As a child (and adult), she was a fierce competitor.  She loved baseball and played baseball with the boys as the only girl and starting center fielder until she was 13 years old.  She had a huge collection of baseball cards that she prized.  The love of her life was her Teacup Chihuahua that she named Beckit Monroe after the baseball card magazine that she subscribed to.  She had tremendous love for her Papo and G-ma Smith and looked forward every summer to spending time with them.

She was a spirited young woman that truly loved people and her friends of which she had many.  She loved golfing, painting, bicycling, photography and taking long walks with Beckit Monroe.  She loved her family and being an Aunty to her nieces Sage, Lily, Penelope, and Aleah and nephews River, Hayzin, Harper, and Abel.

Brooke is survived by her parents of Sioux City, step father, Jim Edwards of Sioux City, one sister, Chelsi Edwards of Sioux City, one brother, Jakob (Melissa) Saxton of Sioux city, 3 nieces and 3 nephews all of Sioux City, her G-ma Joan Saxton of Decatur, NE and a Papo Paul Smith of Princeton, MO, 5 aunts, 4 uncles and several cousins.

Brooke was preceded in death by her grandfather Murray Saxton, grandmother Carol Smith, uncle Tim Saxton, uncle Jerry Allen Blackford.
