Billie F. Hollingsworth Sioux City – Billie Faye Hollingsworth, 68, of Dakota Dunes, SD died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 peacefully at her home following an almost three year battle with brain cancer.
Services with be at 10:30 a.m. Monday Sept, 19 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Gary Panko. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapel.com.
Billie was born December 14, 1947, in Italy, Texas, the daughter of Dutch and Claudine (Windham) Barlow. She grew up in Corsicana, TX and graduated from Corsicana High School. Billie married Ray Hollingsworth on December 23, 1965 in Corsicana. They moved frequently until settling in Sioux City in 1976. She worked in several different businesses over the years with her last venture as one of the owners of Uptown Wedding and Event Rental. She always loved a good party!
Billie spent many years volunteering in the community. She was an incredibly loving, giving and devoted wife, mother and Nana. She loved to spend her time with family, particularly making up new games for the grandchildren , swimming and boating. She also loved her girlfriends with their Wednesday night outings eating and having fun and of course shopping with her good friends. She made new friends wherever she went.
Survivors include her husband, Ray of Dakota Dunes; her son Robert and his wife Addie, and daughter Deb Corrao and her husband Mark, all of Omaha, NE; two sisters Sue Kennedy and Barbara Johnson both of Corsicana, TX; her precious grandchildren, Ava Lou and Raylie Jae Hollingsworth and Jack Robert Corrao.
Pallbearers will be Rich Abild, Dan Brooks, Mike Corrao, Terry Koertner, Charles Mostek, Jim O’Connell, Eldon Roth and Keith Tingelhoff.
