Yvonne I. Beck

Yvonne Iris Beck, 83, of Sioux City, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. 

Yvonne was born on Friday, April 18, 1941, in Washington Township, West Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Irene (Casper) Beck. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hinton, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Le Mars.

Yvonne moved with her family to Hinton in 1946, where she graduated from Hinton High School in 1959. She worked at Postal Finance Company in Sioux City. 

Yvonne attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from the US Army Civilian Procurement Intern Program and retired from the Army Command, Rock Island, Illinois as a civilian contract specialist in 1993.

She is survived by her sisters; Bonnie Oldaker and Marla Polly of Sioux City, IA; Kay Fortner of Crisfield, MD, Norene Goettsch of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law Laura Beck, Green Bay, WI; brother-in-law Don Burnett, Gulfport, MS, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kent Beck; niece, Leslie Polly; and brothers-in-law, Bill Oldaker, Ed Fortner, and Ed Goettsch.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Reverends Russell Senstad and David Zirpel officiating. The burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetary. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 17th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Meyers Brothers Morningside Chapel.
