William “Bill” H. Mauer, 82 of South Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 19, 2026, at Mohr & Becker Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Dakota City Cemetery.

Bill was born the son of Frank and Bertha (Kellogg) Mauer on June 26, 1943. He attended South Sioux City schools and went on to find his passion in truck driving. Bill drove truck throughout his life, seeing much of the country. He was most at home on the road and took great pride in his work. He retired at 80 years old.

He loved the simple things in life, fishing whenever he could, listening to old country music, watching Westerns, and drag races.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Trina L. Johnson, and stepchildren Doug (Colette) Martin, Tonya (Steve) Galles, and Dawn Martin.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha (Kellogg) Mauer, his daughter, Serena Mauer, and his brothers, Kenneth and Frank Mauer.
