William Martin "Bill" Knudsen, 69, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on April 7, 2025, at a Sioux Falls Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Newcastle, NE. A Rosary Service will begin at 9:30 A.M. followed by Visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at the Maskell Cemetery in Maskell, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.
Bill was born on January 7, 1956, in Ponca, NE, the son of Ole and Claire (Poulsen) Knudsen, and grew up in a loving family that nurtured his values and sense of community. Bill graduated from Newcastle High School, embarking on a life dedicated to hard work, faith, and the joys of nature.
A proud farmer, Bill also dedicated over 30 years of his life to Prince Manufacturing, where he was known not just for his skill, but also for his unwavering dedication and warm spirit. His passions extended beyond his career; he found joy in hunting, farming, and tinkering with old engines. An avid gun enthusiast and collector, Bill shared his interests with those he loved, instilling in them a respect for the outdoor lifestyle he so cherished.
Bill's devotion to his community and faith was evident throughout his life. He was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. His membership in the NRA emphasized his commitment to responsible ownership and appreciation of the sport.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings: Karen Carter of Upton, WY, Dennis (Bethene) Knudsen of Maskell, NE, Velma Eickhoff of Dickinson, ND, and Dianne (Greg) Palik of Omaha, NE. Bill was a doting uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart. His enduring legacy will undoubtedly continue through the lives he touched and the relationships he cultivated.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ole and Claire Knudsen, and his brother, Hans Knudsen.
In this time of loss, may we all remember the kindness and joy that Bill brought into our lives. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
