Wanita F. Bishop

Wanita Fay Bishop, 74, of Sioux City, IA passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s in Sioux City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service starting at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Interment will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Wanita was born on June 20, 1948 to Vernon and Frances (Dorfler) Rabe in Denison, IA. She attended Sioux City Central High School, graduating in 1967. Wanita was a cashier at Truck Haven Inc. for 30 plus years until they closed in 2012. Wanita was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing card games, bingo, reading, coloring, watching game shows and the Kentucky Derby. She loved taking her children camping and watching them grow into the people they are today. You could always find Wanita spending time with her family.

She will be missed by her three children; Randy Bishop of Sioux City, Jana (Randy) Rowe of Bronson, IA, Ericka (Josh) Sorgdrager of Sioux City, IA, seven grandchildren: Anthony (Jacqueline) Heisterkamp, Samantha (Dan) Reno, Bryce Bishop, Chayton Rowe, Dalton Rowe, Joshua Jr. Heineman, Trinity Heineman, two great-grandchildren: Kennedy and Nora Reno, one sister, Beverly Rabe, and one special nephew, Frankie Rabe. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Rabe, and her beloved dog, Sebastian.
