W. Rory Kelly

W. Rory Kelly, 69, of Sioux City, IA, passed away May 20, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 27^th from 4-7:00 p.m. at Vangarde Arts. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Rory was born on July 25, 1952 in Sioux City to John and Dorothy (Hagan) Kelly.  He graduated from Central High School in 1970 and went on to attend Gonzaga University from 1970-1972.  He was united in marriage to Janet Kelly on May 5, 1979, to this union 3 children were born.  He later married Patricia Harms on February 14, 2001, she passed away in 2018.  Rory was employed at MCI, Byrnes Construction, Gateway Computers, Stream and Casey’s.  In his younger years he was a newspaper carrier.  He enjoyed reading, music, vacationing in Okoboji, and his view of Perry Creek.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Meghan (Gabriel Harrison) Kelly, Philadelphia, PA, Brendan Kelly, Sioux City, IA, Bridget Kelly, Truckee, CA, Tiffany (Dave) Janssen, Sioux Falls, SD, Chad Newell, Iowa City, IA; siblings: Molly (Gary) Sokolowski, Sioux City, IA, Timothy “Tim” Kelly, Camino, CA, Dorothy “Meg” (Gil) Evans, Spring Valley, CA, Katie (Ron) Colling, Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Mack Kelly, Sioux City, IA and Elliot Janssen, Sioux Falls, SD

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John C. Kelly Jr., V. Hagan Kelly, E. Kevin Kelly; and wife Pat Kelly.

The family would like to thank the ICU and 8^th floor nurses at MercyOne as well as nurse Amanda at St. Croix Hospice.
