Vongdeuane Choummany, 61, of Sergeant Bluff, IA passed away on January 26, 2024.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City. Cremation will follow the service.
Vongdeuane, the son of KumDang and Sylot Choummany, was born May 5, 1962, in Khammoune Province, Thakhek District, Laos. He is number five out of eleven kids. During the Secret War in Laos, Vongdeuane fled to a refugee camp in Thailand. In 1980, he immigrated to the United States, where in 1988 he began a family with Boualiane Theplama and her two daughters.
Vongdeuane dedicated his life to his family as a proud husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Boualiane Theplama, two daughters: Marie Theplama and Gina (Mark) Macrander; and four Grandkids: Ronin, Korbyn, Ryker, and Harlow.
