Vincent N. Lara

Vincent N. Lara, 85, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022.  A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time.  Online condolences may be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.

Vincent was born the son of Sisto Lara and Guadalupe Rodriguez on September 8, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa.  He graduated from Central High School and the Chicago Institute of Art.  He was in a loving relationship with his wife, Joan until her passing in 1978. 

Vincent worked in commercial advertising.  He was Vice President of Farrell & Co.  He then owned and operated his own advertisement firm until his retirement. 

Vincent was a very talented and well-rounded artist.  He enjoyed being out in nature, sketching trees and old structures.  He also enjoyed fishing and golfing in his younger years. 

He was an active member of The Cathedral of the Epiphany until his health declined.

Vincent is survived by his sons, Vincent, Roderick, Derek, Troy, and Quinton Lara; sisters, Toni (Gary) Cain, Anita (Dan) Harrington, and Roxanne (Jack) Allen; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene; and brothers, Larry, Paul, and John.
