Vern Hammerstrom

Vern was born on April 21, 1945, to Vernon and Nellie (Conly) Hammerstrom. He grew up in the Leeds area of Sioux City. He was a 1963 graduate of Leeds High School, to which he said had the best classmates ever! He proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam.

Vern treasured time with his family, especially with his son, Jeff, his daughter-in-law, Kristen, and his two grandchildren, Natalie and Casey while cruising Lake Okoboji on the pontoon or beating them all in cribbage.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane Hammerstrom.
