Valetta Marie (Trudell) Hauge, 83, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
A visitation celebrating Valetta's life will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, located at 3220 Stone Park Blvd. in Sioux City, Iowa.
Valetta was born February 8, 1943, in Bloomfield, Nebraska, the daughter of Valentine and Louise (Campbell) Trudell. She attended catholic schools as a child and graduated from Central High School. Valetta married Donald M. Hauge, and the couple was blessed with four children.
After her children started school, she embraced the opportunity to work outside the home while continuing to be a loving and devoted mother. Valetta worked in the Nutrition Program, alongside her mother at the Sioux City Indian Center. Later, she became a private caregiver for many years. Eventually, Valetta began working at Walmart in Singing Hills. She found joy in her work and the many friendships she made along the way. Valetta retired after 20 wonderful years.
Valetta was a wonderful mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She was a great cook and had a wonderful sense of humor. She took great pride in caring for and spending time with her family. They were her greatest joy, and she was especially proud of each one of them. She will be lovingly remembered for the warmth, care, and love she gave to those around her.
Valetta will lovingly be remembered by her children, Steven (Rhonda) Hauge of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, Stacey (Robert) Tanner of Surprise, Arizona, and David (Amy) Hauge of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Stephanie (Andrew) Jindra, Alec (Kate), Gavin, Carter, and Lauren Hauge; great-grandchildren, Luka, Tenley, and Lux Jindra, and Hayes Hauge; and sisters, Micky Gleiser and Mary Rosene.
