It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Troy Allen Dawdy, who passed away on February 22nd in Omaha, Nebraska, after a brief illness. His kindness and generous heart will always be remembered.
A celebration of life will take place at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, IA, on Friday. February 27, 2026, from 4:00PM - 7:00PM.
Troy was born on April 13, 1976, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Shortly after his birth, he was welcomed home by his parents, Mary Anna and Jerry Dawdy, along with his older sister, Terri and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended East High School, where he formed many lasting friendships and memories. Troy had a love for watching hockey and race cars and found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the company of those closest to him.
Troy will be remembered for his warm heart, his quiet strength, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His memory will live on in the lives of all who loved him.
He is survived by his son, Dax Dawdy; sister, Terri (Steve) Schultz; niece, Brittni Staben; nephew, Tyler Schultz; great-nephews, Logan, Cameron, and Jayden Staben; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Anna and Jerry Dawdy; maternal and paternal grandparents, George and Helen Klingensmith & Ernest and Ruth Dawdy.
Even in passing, he continued to help others by giving the ultimate gift - the gift of life - through organ donation.
