Trina J. Currier-Hawkins

Trina Currier-Hawkins of Sioux City passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Trina was born on October 1, 1960, in San Diego, California. She lived briefly in Seattle, WA before landing permanently in Sioux City. 

Trina met and married the love of her life Johnnie Hawkins Sr. in 1982. She happily decided to stay home and raise her four children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing Yahtzee with her family. You could find Trina tending to her garden and fostering animals during her free time.

She is survived by her four children: Janon Tufte, Andre Currier, Johnnie (JJ) Hawkins Jr. and Anthony (Tony) Hawkins; numerous grandchildren; her sister Maria Cloud-Jacques; and her brother Michael Martin.

Trina is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; her mother Theresa Martin and father Frank Currier. 

A private service will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Trina's memory to the Siouxland Humane Society.
