Travis H. Hobbs, 49, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Travis’s life during a visitation at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Travis was born on October 22, 1976, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of Cynthia (Nelson) Hobbs. Travis grew up in Sioux City and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1997. His journey through life was characterized by an infectious laugh and an incredible sense of humor that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Travis's love for life was evident in his passions. He was an avid fan of professional wrestling and a devoted follower of movies. He carried a strong allegiance to Notre Dame and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, proudly cheering for them through every season. He loved the soap opera "Days of Our Lives," never missing an episode, reflecting his dedication to the stories and characters that brought joy to his daily routine. Above all, family held the highest place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Among Travis's proudest accomplishments was his participation in the Special Olympics, where he competed fiercely and received numerous medals, showcasing his commitment and determination. His spirit lives on as a reminder of the joy he spread and the love he gave.

Travis leaves behind a loving family, including his mother Cynthia "Cindy" Hobbs of South Sioux City, his stepfather Kurt Erickson and his grandmother, Illa Hobbs. He is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Brenda) Nelson, Christopher (Maria) Hobbs, and Josh (Rebecca) Erickson, along with his nieces and nephews: Jordan (Courtney) Nelson, Gavin Hobbs, Isabell Hobbs, Kaitlyn Nelson, Jocelyn Hobbs, Benjamin Nelson, Claire Erickson, Cooper Erickson, and Camille Erickson, special friend, Diane Gathje, and he will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends at Opportunity Unlimited.

Travis was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roberta Schoepf and Franklin Nelson; his maternal step-grandfather, Mervin Schoepf; his paternal grandfather, Joe Hobbs; and his dog Sir Jake of Travsville.
