Timothy C. Shannon

Timothy C. Shannon, 73 of rural Hinton passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025 after a long cancer battle. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Siouxland Humane Society or Care Initiatives Hospice. 

Tim was born the son of Paul and Marjorie (Barnes) Shannon on April 13, 1951 in North Bend, Oregon. He attended Siouxland area grade school and completed middle and high school in Big Spring, Texas. After high school, Tim joined the Marine Corp. Following his honorable service, Tim moved to Baltimore where he was a Baltimore Police officer. He moved to the Siouxland area and worked as a juvenile intake officer in Dakota County, Nebraska before joining the Iowa Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper and then became an undercover narcotics agent. He then owned and operated a security company with contracts around the United States. He retired in 2013.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lori Shannon; children, Jennifer (Rob) Ashmore and Timothy (Heather) Shannon; grandchildren, Shannin Ashmore and Adalyn Shannon; siblings, Mick Shannon, Dennis Shannon, and Debra Shannon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leonard.
