Timothy "Tim" Douglas Ellison

Timothy “Tim” Douglas Ellison, 57, of Kissimmee, FL, passed away on August 3rd, 2024. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Country Celebrations Event Center in Sioux City, IA on Tuesday, August 20th at 5 pm. 

Tim was born on October 16, 1966, in Sioux City, IA, to Charles and Shirley (Perkins) Ellison. He was known for his adventurous spirit, boundless generosity, and unwavering dedication to his friends and family. 

Tim graduated from North High School in Sioux City and went on to study at Morningside College, where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He then earned a BFA in Design from Iowa State University.

His insatiable curiosity and zest for adventure led him to travel extensively, embracing every opportunity to discover new destinations and make lasting memories with loved ones. His travels were not merely vacations but reflections of his generous spirit, often including friends and family on his journeys and sharing many laughs along the way.

When not exploring the world, Tim delighted in serving as a tour guide of sorts for friends and family vacationing in Central Florida. His friends affectionately called him “Uber Ellison”, as he would frequently volunteer to transport them to and from the airport.

Tim’s generosity extended beyond his travels. He was always ready to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a kind gesture. His selfless nature made him a cherished presence in the lives of his loved ones.

With a vibrant sense of humor and an ability to make any situation light-hearted, Tim’s laughter was a constant source of joy for his large circle of friends in Florida, whom he considered family. His knack for finding humor in everyday moments and his fun-loving spirit made him a beloved companion to all who knew him.

Tim is survived by his brother, Todd (Kathy) Ellison, and sister, Laura McNeil. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Erica (Michael) Antrim, George (Kaite) Ellison, Allison McNeil, and Stuart (Peyton) McNeil, as well as his grandnephews and grandnieces: Charlie and Ahna Antrim, Lyla and Jett Ellison, and Sawyer McNeil, all of whom he loved dearly and treated as if they were his own children. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Shirley (Perkins) Ellison, and his grandnephew, Jackson Ellison.
