   Thomas “Tom” Waskow, 49, of Sioux City passed away on September 9, 2022.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Holy Cross Parish – St. Michael Catholic Church (2223 Indian Hills Drive) in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City.

   Thomas Joseph “Tom”, the son of Richard “Dick” and Elaine (Smejkal) Waskow, was born September 13, 1972 in Des Moines, IA. During Tom’s early childhood years, his family made their home in Des Moines then moved to Minnesota for a short time before making Sioux City their home. Tom attended St. Michael’s Catholic Grade School, Heelan Catholic High School for one year, and finished his last three years of high school at North High graduating with the Class of 1991. Following high school, he started working at St. Luke’s Hospital then at Gateway.

   On June 3, 1994, Tom was united in marriage to Christina “Christie” (Mousel) at St. Boniface Catholic Church. This union was blessed with four children. Tom and Christie lived in Sioux City then made their home in Le Mars. Tom worked at Wells Enterprises then Dean Food and in recent years returned to Wells where he was currently working.

  Tom’s hobbies included: camping, biking, music, puzzles, and Legos. His favorite pastime was fishing and was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

  He is survived by his children: Taylor Waskow (Deserai), Cody Waskow (Bailey Hanno), Andrew Waskow, and Mylee Waskow; mother of his children, Christina “Christie” Mousel; three grandchildren: Cameron, Savannah, and Brantley Waskow; Tom’s mom, Elaine Waskow; siblings: Tim Waskow (Ginger), Theresa Bollinger (Brad), and Todd Waskow (Doren Wood); and several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

   He was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Dick” Waskow and brother, Troy William Waskow.
