Terry Lee Guffy, 67, of Bronson, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Terry was born on April 18, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Earl and Elsie Guffy. He graduated from East High School in 1976. Over the years, Terry worked at Wilson Trailer and All Power before retiring from his favorite position as a custodian at Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School, where he made lasting friendships and touched the lives of many students and staff.
Terry loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing guitar, and, most of all, playing Aggravation with his sisters—time filled with laughter and treasured memories.
Terry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Guffy; his children, Stacy (Cody) Myers of Lawton, Iowa, and Travis Guffy of Bronson, Iowa; his grandchildren, Avery and Brenna Myers, and Lauren (Paisley) Steen; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Kunkel and Joan Bates, both of Bronson, Iowa; his brother Leroy (Brenda) Guffy of Sioux City, Iowa; his brother-in-law Doug (Paula) Macklem of Inman, South Carolina; his sister-in-law Sue (Pat) Birks of Sioux City, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elsie Guffy; his father- and mother-in-law, Walter and Bonnie Macklem; his daughter, Christy Lynn Guffy; his brother, James Earl Guffy; his brothers-in-law, Virgil Kunkel and LeRoy Bates; and several nieces and nephews. Terry will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, hard work, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
