Teresa A. Zinn

Teresa A. Zinn, born on June 26, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, departed this world on her 75th birthday, June 26, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Teresa was known for her loving, caring, and compassionate nature, embodying a spirit that radiated warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path.

Teresa dedicated a significant part of her career to serving her community, having retired from the United States Postal Service. Most recently, she worked as a school bus assistant for the Sioux City Community School District, where she played a vital role in the lives of children with special needs. Her commitment to others was reflected in her volunteer work with organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, VFW, and the Humane Society.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Teresa cherished her role as a mother to her three daughters, Tracy (Mike) Dicus, LaTessa Zinn, and Angie (Reggie) Torno; as well as her son, William "Bill" (Nicole) Zinn. She took immense pride in her family, extending her legacy through her nine grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Drucker, Brittany (Chris) Schaaf, LaTasia Zinn, Khrysa , Tianna , Kamesha, Brooke, Tavarus and Kelsey Zinn and Trent Engling; and five great-grandchildren; niece, Sarah Kyriazes.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Carolyn (Walker) Kyriazes, and her husband, James Zinn. Teresa leaves behind a brother, William Kyriazes, along with many friends and loved ones whose lives were touched by her generous spirit.

A visitation to honor Teresa will be held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel on July 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City at 2:00 PM.

Teresa A. Zinn will be remembered not only for her many contributions to her community and family but also for the love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her.
