Teresa A. Ruiz-Paz, 64, of Sioux City, a devoted mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at a local care center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Teresa was born on September 9, 1961, in Tyronza, Arkansas, the daughter of Grady and Geraldine (Gardner) Trapp. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering strength, kindness, and deep love for her family. After graduating high school, Teresa pursued a degree in early education at Kirkwood Community College. She was known for her dedication to her career as the former manager of the White Horse Mounted Patrol in Sioux City.
Teresa was truly devoted to her family. She cherished her beloved sons and grandchildren. The love she held for her family was unparalleled, anchoring her in life’s greatest moments. Beyond bonds of family, Teresa had a vibrant personality that endeared her to many. She truly cared about people and was always looking to help those around her. Her interests reflected her joyful spirit; she loved fishing, dancing, music, and puzzles.
Teresa is survived by her mother, Geraldine Trapp of North Carolina; her loving sons: Billy and his wife Ashley Trapp of North Carolina, Coby and his wife Carrie Trapp of Sioux City, and Gary Trapp of Sioux City. She was a proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Dante, Mykayla, Ayanos, Taleah, Aliza, Niajia and Trinide; her sister, Sharrion and her husband Michael Hayes of North Carolina; her brothers, Bob Trapp of Iowa and Chuck Trapp of Arkansas; and her devoted dog, BeeBee.
She preceded in death by her father Grady Trapp, son Kiet Trapp, and granddaughter Iliana.
