Teresa Lynn Waterbury 63, of Wayne, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026. A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Mohr & Becker-Hunt in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Teresa was born the daughter of Richard and Carole (Rush) Youngren on July 15, 1963 in Sioux City, Iowa. Teresa attended South Sioux City High School and completed the nursing program at Western Iowa Tech. During this time, she became the proud mother of four children. She worked for many years as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery department. Teresa had a special place in her heart for babies and was never happier than when she had a little one in her arms. Most recently she worked with Mid-Step Services and Opportunities Unlimited. Teresa built many lasting connections with her clients and even thought of them as family. She truly cared for others and will be remembered for her nurturing soul. In 2003 she met her long-time fiancé, Hugh Hardeman. Together they went on many life adventures and created unforgettable memories.

Teresa was happy at home and could always find things around the house to keep her occupied. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her snicker salad and goulash. Teresa liked watching the flowers in her yard bloom. Her Catholic faith was important to her. Teresa and her mother shared a truly special bond. They created countless memories together and found joy in each other’s company.

She is survived by her fiancé Hugh; mother, Carole; sons, Richard (Tiffany), Casey (Korin), and Ian; daughter, Ceila (Zach); and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.
