Teresa L. Akerberg

Teresa L. Akerberg, 67 of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. service at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Teresa was born the daughter of Harlan Ambrose and Wanda Uhl on May 14, 1958 in Marion, Ohio. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1976 and then from WIT in 1978 with a dental assistant degree. Teresa married Gary Akerberg on September 1, 1979 in Sioux City. They enjoyed 45 years together.

Teresa worked for Wagner, Kuntz & Grabouski Orthodontics straight out of high school until her retirement in 2012.

She enjoyed camping with her family. Their favorite spot was Little Sioux Park. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and keeping up her garden, where she grew both flowers and vegetables. She was also active in the St. Boniface choir for many years.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Gary Akerberg of Sioux City; children, Ryan (Emily) Akerberg and Angela (Nick) Copas both of Sioux City and stepdaughters, Shelly Akerberg and Heather Akerberg both of Omaha; mother, Wanda Thibodeau; siblings, Steve (Teresa) Ambrose and Amy (Dwayne) Lempares; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan and sister, Kris.
