Susan “Sue” K. (Peterson) Bubb passed away at the Mitchell Hospice House in Sioux City, IA on Monday, September 14th after a three-year battle with cancer.
Sue was born January 26, 1960, in Sioux City to Chuck and Lavone Peterson of Correctionville, Iowa. She joined her brother Jim and after Sue, two more siblings came along, David and Nancy. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville and graduated from Eastwood High School in 1978. She went on to further her education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD for one year then transferred to Iowa State University and graduated with an accounting degree in 1983.
Sue held various jobs in Sioux City working at 7-11, Cub Foods, and Bomgaars. On June 13, 1992, she married Mike Bubb at Little Sioux Park in Correctionville. They had many fur babies over the years. She was proud to have worked at Bomgaars for 25 years and was still working prior to her passing.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Mike, sister, Nancy (Kendall) Schoen of Ida Grove, brothers Jim (Hae) Peterson of Tea, SD, and David Peterson o Cathedral City, CA. Nieces, Nicole (Ryan) Woelber of Sioux Falls, SD, and Rachel (Kenny) Hoffard of Spencer, IA. Nephews, Kenton (Megan) Peterson of Thornton, CO and Ben Schoen of Ida Grove. Sister in laws, Laurie (Justin) Petersen, Karen (Brad) Binnebose, brother-in-law, Rick (Michelle) Kinnaman all of Sioux City, and Randy Kinnaman of South Dakota, along with many more nieces, nephews and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Lavone Peterson, her in laws, Glenda and Lee Kinnaman, sister-in-law, Laurel Peterson, brother-in-law, Danny Bubb and Mike’s father, William Bubb.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Mitchell Hospice House of Sioux City.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Steinbeck’s Pub, 3929 Floyd Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51108. Please come share your stories and memories of Sue with family and friends.
