She was born at St Joseph Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa on September 25, 1948, to Vernon and Bernice (Kunkel) O’Meara.  She graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1966. She was married and blessed with three children, Carrie Jo, Tammy Lynn and Todd Andrew.

She lived in the Sioux City area her entire life and most recently in North Sioux City, SD.  Sue was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital for many years working in admitting and later in billing.  She also worked for the Woodbury County Auditor’s office until her retirement in 2018.

Sue was a member of Sacred Heart Church.  She loved to sing and was a choir member at Immaculate Conception, St Joseph’s Church in Salix and at Sacred Heart.   She served as parish sacristan while living in Salix.

She loved participating in family activities especially for grandchildren. She loved to swim at her daughter’s pool, camping, and just being out in the sun. Sue had a large collection of Raggedy Ann & Andy’s that were very dear to her. She especially loved Boo-Boo Bear, Big Sissy and her Special Raggedy (who became very naughty whenever Aunt Maggie was around).

Sue is survived by her daughters Carrie Butler (Jeff), Tammy Blinde (Lynn); sisters Margaret (Maggie) Locke (Larry) and Kathleen O’Meara; grandchildren Ian Struble (Kari), Austin Struble, Lauren Motta (Taylor), RandieLyn Baines (Dillon), Kaitlyn McHenry (Dominic), Dylan Blinde, Brooke Butler (Quinton), Dylan Butler (Hope) and Tiffanie Blinde; great-grandchildren, Jameson Struble, Lane Struble, Rowan and Indy McHenry; life-long friend Cheryl Day Prather; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son Todd in 1991.
