Sue was born on October 18, 1952, in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Helen (Elliott) Stankiewicz. An alumna of Central High School, from which she graduated in 1970, and Morningside College, graduating in 1975, she built her life upon a foundation of service and empathy. Known for her unwavering dedication to nurturing those around her, Sue was an anchor of support and kindness, cherishing each moment spent with her family and friends. A gifted social worker, Sue dedicated thirty-one years of her life to the Countryside Health Care Center, where her servant's heart radiated warmth and care to all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Sue married Karl Luther on July 18, 2004, at Holly Springs Bible Fellowship.
She found immense joy in gardening and cooking, artfully crafting meals that brought loved ones together. As a grandmother, she reveled in the joy of caring for her grandchildren. Sue was an active member of Holly Springs Bible Fellowship.
Sue is survived by her devoted husband, Karl Luther; her cherished children, Elizabeth Schermerhorn of Sioux City and Michael John (Janel) Bennett of Aliso Viejo, California; as well as her beloved stepchildren, Tammy (Mark) Krumwiede of Bennington, Nebraska, and Todd (Stacy) Luther of Elkhorn, Nebraska.
