Susan K. Haneklaus

Susan K. Haneklaus, 70, of Hawarden, IA passed away, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, IA. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Susan was born in Sioux City, IA to William and Marian McArthur on November 2, 1952.  She attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. After high school, she married Harry (Ray) Haneklaus on March 17, 1971. They went on to have four sons.   She worked in the manufacturing industry for many years, obtaining employment at IBP, Sioux-Preme Packing, and Quality Park Products. Susan loved to crochet in her free time, making many items for family members.  She also loved listening to music, with her favorite being Elvis.  Spending time with family, especially her grandkids, was one of her greatest joys. Susan was an animal lover as well.  

Susan was preceded in death by her husband Harry; her parents, William and Marian; a brother, Gary; and a sister, Linda.

Susan is survived by her sons William of Sioux Falls, SD; Raymond (Teresa) of Lennox, SD; James (Amy) of Kingsley, IA, and Steven of Rock Valley, IA, as well as her brother Mark McArthur of Las Vegas, NV. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
