Steve was born the son of Robert Earl and Leona Francis (Russell) McArthur on July 22, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1962. Steve then enlisted in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge, Steve married Nancy K. Horn on November 26, 1966 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. To this union two children were born. They divorced years later but remained good friends.
Steve worked for Climate Control Sheet Metal before beginning his career at C.W. Suter. He was still working and had worked in many roles over his 43 years with the company. He was currently a project manager.
Steve enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was lucky enough to make a hole-in-one at age 80. He was well known at the Hard Rock Casino where he built friendships with many of the employees. He loved watching a good sports game. It didn’t matter what team was playing or what the sport was, he was just a sports fanatic. He loved watching his children in their younger years and later, his grandchildren’s activities.
Steve is survived by his children, Stacy Lee McArthur Lake and Matthew Mark McArthur; grandchildren, Jim (Maysen), Jessup (Elora), Emme (Derek), Jed, Josiah, Parker, and Matalynn; and great grandchildren, McArthur, Ashford, Leona, and Christine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Michael, Jerry, and Donald.
