Steven Philip Caraher

Steven Philip Caraher, 69, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at his residence.

Steven was born December 30, 1953, in Portland, Oregon, the son of Philip John Caraher and Carol Catherine (Peil) Caraher.  He grew up in Portland and relocated to Sioux City in 1998.  Steven worked for Gateway, worked as a long-haul truck driver, and most recently drove a taxi in Sioux City.  He loved classic rock music, including Journey, Jimmy Hendrix, and Pink Floyd.  His children and grandchildren brought him the greatest love and joy.

Survivors include his three children:  Zachary Caraher of Seattle, WA, Maddysen Caraher and fiancé Henry Holcomb and their children:  Lakota and Sophia Holcomb of Sioux Center, IA, and Jacob Ruhrer and fiancé Ashley Malm and their son: Rowen Ruhrer-Malm and one on the way of Remsen, IA; sister:  Colleen Caraher of Portland, OR; and dear friend Connie Walsted of Sioux City.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tim Caraher.
