Stephen Derek Wilson

   Stephen Derek Wilson, 56, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his residence.

   Cremation rites will be accorded and no service are planned.  Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

   Stephen was born October 25, 1964 in Stockton, CA.   He grew up in Reno, NV with his mom Rita and her husband.  Stephen graduated from high school in Reno.

   On March 19, 1989, Stephen was united in marriage to Tina Kathleen Spence in Reno and this union was blessed with two children Christopher and Jennifer.  In the late 80’s, Stephen enlisted in the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1992.  In the early 90’s, the family made their home in California then moved to the Siouxland area in the mid 90’s.  Stephen worked as a customer service representative at MCI and Qwest for several years.  He also worked at Winnavegas Hotel in Sloan and was a truck driver for Werner Enterprises until some health issues forced him to quit. 

   Stephen loved to read, play video games and watch football and NASCAR on television.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his new grandson.

   He is survived by his wife Tina of Sioux City; son Christopher Wilson and wife Jevon Chavitt-Wilson and their son Kahlil of Sioux City; daughter Jennifer Wilson of Sioux City; aunt Kitty; uncle Rick; and several other relatives and friends.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.
