Stephen Mahnke

Stephen Mahnke, 77 of South Sioux City, Nebraska died June 18, 2024 at his home with his service dog, Sherman, at his side. Per Stephen’s request, he has been cremated and will be laid to rest with Military Honors at St. Michael’s Cemetery, South Sioux City, Nebraska, on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with family and friends present. Stephen was born January 19, 1947 to Charles and Betty (Sandage) Mahnke. He married Patricia Connelly on March 28, 1970 and they settled down in South Sioux City, Nebraska. 

Survivors include his two children Jason (Melinda) Mahnke and Cheryl (Chad) Oldenkamp along with his five grandchildren; Daniel and Jacob Oldenkamp, and Katie, Kelsie, and Emily Mahnke, all of Sioux City. Two siblings; Rebecca (Rudy) Pospisil from Flower Mound, TX and Michael (Brenda) Mahnke of Jefferson, SD plus many neices, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, his parents Charles and Betty Mahnke, a sister Theresa Fisher, and grandson Austin Oldenkamp.
