Stephanie A.
Divis
Aug 19, 1962 — Jun 13, 2026
Hinton, Iowa
Stephanie A. Divis, of rural Hinton, Iowa, passed away following a sudden illness on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 63. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, with a prayer service officiated by Pastor Russell Senstad at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Stephanie was born on August 19, 1962, in Orange County, California, to Raymond Moyse and Sandra Parks. Following her mother's marriage to William Reeves Parks, Stephanie was lovingly adopted by William, who raised her as his own daughter.
She studied English and earned her bachelor's degree from Morningside College and later obtained her master's degree from the University of South Dakota. During her studies at USD, she met her lifelong partner, Bob Johnson. Together they made their home in rural Hinton and shared 30 plus years of love, friendship, and adventure.
Stephanie worked as a Writing Consultant at Morningside College, where her knowledge, guidance, and encouragement benefited countless students. She formed lasting relationships with many of those she mentored and will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Stephanie was an avid reader who often finished multiple books in a single week. She also enjoyed caring for her animals, both big and small, and loved each of them dearly. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel loved, welcomed, and accepted. Her laughter, wisdom, and kindness touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever.
Stephanie was deeply spiritual and believed in the power and healing of Mother Earth. She enjoyed attending horse-healing therapy events, studying astrology, and participating in solstice celebrations. These interests brought her joy, peace, and a sense of connection with the world around her.
Above all else, Stephanie loved her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved, celebrating life's milestones, and creating traditions that will continue for generations.
Stephanie is survived by her longtime companion, Bob Johnson; her children, Jennifer Divis and Jeffrey Divis; her grandson, Trevor Hanson (Hannah); and her beloved pets, Leila, Outback, Peanut Bean, Mulligan, and LuAnn.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, Sandra and William Reeves Parks, her biological father, Raymond Moyse, and her brothers, Tony Parks and Dave Parks.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Stephanie's love, guidance, and spirit will remain with us always. Her memory will live on through the stories shared, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
