Stanton Dean Culley

Stanton Dean “Stan” Culley, 74 of LeMars, Iowa passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with Reverend Timothy Geitz officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with Military Honors by the United States Army. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Hospice of Siouxland. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com Stan was born on July 17, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa to Homer and Esther (Scheel) Culley. He graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1965 and continued his education at the Valparaiso Technical Institute in Valparaiso, Indiana, graduating in 1968 with an Engineering of Technology degree. Stan served in the United States Army from May of 1968 until his honorable discharge in February of 1970. Stan made a career in Broadcasting, retuning to Sioux City in 1970 until 1977, where worked at radio stations KSEZ-FM and KMNS. He then moved to LeMars in 1978 where he worked for radio stations KLEM and KZZL-FM from 1977 until 2005; KSCJ, KSFT-FM, KSUX-FM, KLEM, KZZL from 2005 until 2007; and KMNS, KWSL, KGLZ-FM, and KSFT-FM from 2007 until 2010. Stan was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sioux City from 1947 until 1960; Faith Lutheran Church in Sioux City from 1960 until 1977; and Grace Lutheran Church of LeMars from 1977. He enjoyed his membership to the American Legion of LeMars, Iowa. Stan is survived by two brothers Linn (Barb) Culley of Raleigh, North Carolina and Mark (Deb) Culley of Kansas City, Missouri, nephew Chris (Joni) Culley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and their daughters Emerson, Olivia, and Katie Jane, nephew Adam (Emily) Culley of Raleigh, North Carolina and their daughters Avery and Ashlyn, and nephew Brad (Linda) Culley of Roseville, California and their sons Josiah, Noah, and Elijah. Stan was preceded in death by his mother Esther in 2008, his father Homer in 2010, and his brother Dennis Culley in 2019.
