Sheryl A. Anderson

Sheryl A. Anderson, 76 of Newcastle, NE passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023.  Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Congregational Church in Newcastle, NE.  Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.  Burial will be at Newcastle City Cemetery.  

Sheryl was born the daughter of Palmer and Elsie (Martinson) Lund on September 25, 1946 in Ponca, Nebraska.  She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1964.  Sheryl married Robert “Bob” Anderson on April 4, 1965 in Newcastle. 

Sheryl worked in the Newcastle Public School kitchen for many years.

Sheryl enjoyed playing cards and watching game shows and old Westerns.  Her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was precious to her.

Sheryl is survived by her children, Cindy McNear of Sioux Falls, SD, Rhonda (Robert) Voss of Texas, Rebecca (Joe) Rosener of Westside, IA, Robert (Leslie) Anderson of SD, and Holly (Eric Rice) Hoesing of Newcastle, NE; siblings, Linda (Carroll) Fountain of Lincoln, NE and Rod (Linda) Lund of Newcastle, NE; 21 grandchildren, Caleb, Melissa, Colton, Misty, Josh, Trenton, Travis, Bobbi, Brett, Skye, Nic, Jon, Keaton, Anthony, Kylie, Kate, Kerri, Kam, Kor, Jordan, Jaxson; and several great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert.
