Shawn R. King

   Shawn R. King, born January 8th of 1963, was the son of the late Charles and Catherine King, of Sioux City, Iowa. He departed this earthly life, Monday, December 12th, 2022, at the age of 59.

   Shawn grew up in Sioux City, IA. where he married his wife, Mary Lou, in June of 1983. He worked most of his life building electrical towers and retired in 2015, as a crane operator. Together, they shared a beautiful life and had four children. Shawn enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a friend to all and had a smile that lit up every room. Shawn had one title that he was especially proud of, and that was “Grandpa.” He had three grandsons that he loved dearly. He shared with them, his passion for music and went on many fishing trips together. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

   His survivors include one daughter, Pamela Camarillo and her husband Alfonso; two sons, Corey King and Jeremy McCoy, all of South Sioux City, Nebraska; three brothers, Brent D. King and his wife Sumiko, of Waipahu, Hawaii, Barry A. King of Sioux City, Iowa, Nathan C. King of Sergeant Bluff Iowa; one sister Randi R. Hood and her husband Joe of Sioux City, Iowa and three grandson’s, Trystan, Taylor and Jordi. 

   He was preceded into death by his wife, their infant daughter and his father and mother.

   Private memorial services will be at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Burial of his cremains will be at Piero Bethel Cemetery in Anthon, Iowa.
