Sharon Raye Anderson

Sharon Raye Whitlock-Anderson, 76 of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Dakota City Cemetery.

Sharon was born November 19, 1946 to Donald R. Whitlock and Dolly (Pottorff) Tobey of Oroville, California. She married Stewart Anderson at The Church of Latter-Day Saints in Sioux City on November 22, 1986. When she was younger, she worked several jobs. Later in life she worked 20 years at Matney Colonial Manor, then Regency Assisted Living before doing custodial work at South Sioux City High School.

Sharon loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed working outside her home. She also loved collecting porcelain dolls and watching WWE Wrestling and girls basketball. She read the Gospel when she had quiet time.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Stewart Anderson; daughter, Wendy Andersen; granddaughter, Ashley (Tony) Fry; step-son, David Anderson; many step-grandchildren; sister, Mary Beth (Chuck) Farley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Whitlock; infant daughter, Connie Raye Pinney; infant sons, Christopher Lynn Pinney and Dennis Ray Pinney, Jr.; infant sister; and two infant grandsons.
