Sharie L. Lieber

Sharie L. (Pedersen) Lieber, 81, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 11:30 A.M. Reverend David Halaas will officiate. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Jackson, NE will be at a later date. 

Sharie was born October 22, 1941 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Louis and Alice (Wenther) Pedersen. She was raised in Jackson, NE and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1959. On May 22, 1960, she married Delbert R. Lieber at the First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. To this union, four children were born. The following year, she moved to South Sioux City. Sharie worked at several businesses in the Siouxland area and often turned her hobbies into employment. She began her first career as a bank teller at Nebraska State Bank in 1959. She then worked for the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, Atokad Park Racetrack, Marina Inn as a hostess, United Vending Food Services, and H&R Block as a tax preparer. She owned and operated Sharie’s Gallery from 1995 to 2019; a floral & gift shop that she also operated her massage therapy business out of. She also owned and operated apartments in Waterbury, NE and rental homes and worked as a seamstress for many years.

Sharie was a member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. She was an artist, talented seamstress, crafter, and devoted to her family. She loved traveling, sewing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Sharie enjoyed learning new things; she took flying lessons in 1985 and roofed her own home. She was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 62 years, Delbert Lieber; 4 children Debra (Greg) VanCleave, Daniel (Deb) Lieber, Randy (Christine) Lieber, Richard (Jennifer) Lieber; 12 grandchildren Karinda Bacon, Halden (Jessica) VanCleave, Brandi McManigal, Jesse Lieber, Dillon (Margaret) Lieber, Ryan (Sara) Lieber, Jordyn (Scott) Salem, Ethan (Abby Rea) Lieber, Angel Ruvalcaba, Branden Lieber, Katelyn Lieber, Hailey Lieber; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Terry Pedersen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
