Selena K. Speth

Selena K. Speth, 44 of Wayne, Nebraska passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Selena was born the daughter of Steven and Kathleen (Tighe) Speth on February 19, 1979 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from South Sioux City High School class of 1997 where she excelled in fine arts. Upon graduating high school, she gave birth to a baby girl that same year. Selena excelled at being a single mom, taking on several waitressing jobs to support her young daughter before a severe car accident greatly impacted her life and those of her family. 

She was creative and enjoyed listening to music, especially country music and Elvis. She was an all-around animal lover with a huge heart. She had several ferrets over the years and couldn’t turn down a stray who needed love. 

Selena is survived by her daughter, Lexus Godina of Sioux City; parents, Steven and Kathleen Speth of Sioux City; siblings, Sean Speth of Sioux City, Stephanie (Troy) Finley of Bronson, and Summer (Jake) Paulson of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her son, Isaiah who passed in infancy.
