Sarah Anne Zoelle

October 13, 1991 — January 14, 2023

Sarah Anne Zoelle, 31 of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from a domestic violence homicide in her home.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Country Celebrations Event Center in Sioux City.  Visitation, with the family present, will be on Sunday, January 22nd at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.   There will be additional visitation prior to the Funeral at Country Celebrations Monday, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Sarah was born on October 13, 1991 in Manhattan, Kansas to Jeff and Oy (Davis) Zoelle.  The family moved to Siouxland in 1998, and Sarah attended Sioux City Schools, from Lincoln Elementary through West High School, attaining her GED through WITCC.  She worked at Coffee Works and Charlie’s Wine & Spirits for several years, greeting everyone with her contagious smile and with courtesy, kindness, and graciousness.  Recently she has been a stay-at-home-mom to her daughter Xyla Soul.  The loss of Sarah in our lives is beyond comprehension or adequate description.  To put into words her lasting effect on everyone she came into contact with defies words.  Sarah was a beautiful soul who touched people in a meaningful, non-judgmental, supportive, and unconditional way.  She is the oldest of eleven children who cared deeply, loved unconditionally, and met each one of her siblings at an individual and personal level.  Sarah’s loving impact will be carried by all those so graciously touched.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Xyla Soul; father Dr. Jeff (Taffy) Zoelle of Sioux City, Iowa; grandfather Thomas Zoelle of Sioux City, Iowa; grandparents Kenneth and Pon Davis of Lakin, Kansas, and Randy and Brenda Deeds of Correctionville, Iowa; siblings Joshua (Gina) Zoelle, Josiah (Samantha) Zoelle, Nathaniel Zoelle, Sunshine Benson, Grace Benson, Anthony Benson, Hector Benson, Michael Benson, Carter Benson, and Elijah Zoelle, all of Sioux City; nieces Shia Jean Zoelle and Sylvia Sue Zoelle of Sioux City; best friend Jacee Warren of Sioux City; and extended family, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sarah was preceded in death by her mother Oy Zoelle in 2021, grandmother Susan Zoelle and grandmother Sally Deeds, and aunt Elizabeth Peden.

Casket Bearers for the service will be Joshua Zoelle, Josiah Zoelle, Michael Benson, Nathaniel Zoelle, Carter Benson, and Elijah Zoelle.

In lieu of flowers, Venmo “Sarah Zoelle Memorial Fund” and donations for Sarah’s daughter can be made to Siouxland Federal Credit Union.  A special “Thank You” from the Zoelle family for those that have donated.
