Sandra Jean “Sandy” Elliott, 70, of Sioux City, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, September 7, 2026. Per her wishes, cremation will take place, and no services are planned at this time.

Sandy was born on July 20, 1956, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Vera (Roelhk) Hansen. She grew up in Laurens, Iowa, where she graduated from high school. Sandy worked at the Pride Group for many years.

Sandy found happiness in the simple things in life. She enjoyed reading and writing, often spending time journaling, and she loved listening to music, taking car rides, and going for walks. More than anything, however, Sandy treasured her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and there was no place she would rather be than surrounded by those she loved. Whether sharing conversation, laughter, a car ride, or simply enjoying time together, the moments spent with her family were the ones she cherished most.

Sandy will be lovingly remembered for the love she gave so freely to her children and grandchildren and for the special place each of them held in her heart. The time they shared and the memories they created together will remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Amber Hansen, Derek Hansen of Sioux City, Freedom (Joseph) Bunkers of Larrabee, Iowa, and Chad Elliott of Sioux City; and her beloved grandchildren: Brayden, Nathan, and Tyler Hansen, and Jaxson, Max, and Axel Bunkers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Vera Hansen; and her brothers, Kenneth and Calvin.
