Sabra L. Jackson, 71, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at a local care facility. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. Reverend Kevin Freese will officiate. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 4-6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Sabra was born on September 26, 1952 in Mitchell, South Dakota. She graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School. On December 12, 1981 she married James “JJ” Jackson in McCook Lake, South Dakota.
Sabra raised her children as a homemaker during her younger years, but also worked for the Sioux City Community School District and at St. Luke’s, and finished her working career in the jewelry department at Sears.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. In her free time, Sabra enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and swimming at the YMCA. She loved traveling, including her yearly trips to Okoboji, which she would spend weeks planning and preparing for, and trips to Las Vegas.
She loved Saturday night dinners with JJ and their daughter, Shaylee, at Bob Roe’s.
Sabra was an animal lover, especially her two dogs.
Survivors include her husband, JJ; children: Jenny, Jess, and Shaylee; siblings: Chuck Nash (Julie) and Sandy Carroll; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who were like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Loretta (Gamblin) Nash; brothers: Dennis Nash, Robert Nash, and Joe Dalldorf; and a granddaughter, Taylin.
Sabra’s family would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland, the Palliative Care team at St. Luke’s, and the staff at June E. Nylen Cancer Center for all of their hard work and loving care.
