Ruthie Ellen Jager

Ruthie Ellen Jager passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Ruthie was born on May 3^rd 1948 in Mikana Wisconsin to David and Nora (Everson) Hargrave. She was raised on a farm near Mikana. Ruthie married Gerald Ludke in 1967. Two sons, Todd and Judd, were born to this marriage. Ruthie and Gerald later divorced. Ruthie married John Bender in 1975 and one daughter, Angela, was born to this marriage. Ruthie and John later divorced. Ruthie married Lee Jager in 1983. Lee adopted Todd, Judd, and Angela. Lee and Ruthie raised their family while traveling for work at first, and later settled down in Sioux City, Iowa. They later divorced.

Ruthie worked for the local telephone company in Rice Lake, Wisconsin before becoming a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to crochet blankets and give them to family and friends. Ruthie later worked at Stream Global Services for many years before her retirement. She loved to play bingo and other games including those in her favorite Wisconsin bars in her younger years. Ruthie loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and she loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, David and Nora Hargrave, 5 sisters; Caroline Owens, Kathleen Glaze, Marian Magnus, Jeanette Retzlaff, Betty Wittman; and 2 brothers: Gary Hargrave and David Hargrave Jr.

Ruthie is survived by her 3 children: Todd (Anne) Jager of North Sioux City, Judd (Lynn) Jager of Dakota City, and Angela (Alan) Van Dieman of Dakota Dunes; 7 grandchildren: Jennifer (David) Ebner, Jordan (Cheyenne) Jager, Georgie (Nathan) Warnock, Jessica Jager, Alex Jager, Brynn Van Diemen, and Cason Van Diemen; 2 brothers Billy (Kitty) Hargrave and Howard (Kathryn) Hargrave 3 sisters: Adeline McManus, Judy (Jerry) Gallimore, and Peggy (John) Feldman, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held in Mikana, Wisconsin.
