Rosemary C. McKinley

Rosemary C. McKinley, 67, of Sioux City, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, August 10, 2020 at her residence.  A memorial service will be held Friday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will be at St. Michaels Cemetery in South Sioux City, NE.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Rosemary was born on November 25, 1952 in Spencer, IA to James and Lila (Pixler) Heller.  She was united in marriage to Earl L. McKinley on June 27, 1969 in Sioux City.  Together her and her husband were foster parents for over 30 years, opening their home to over 500 children.  Rosemary ran a daycare in her home for over 40 years, continuing her love for children.  She was also a senior companion for over 6 ½ years before becoming ill.  She attended church at Sacred Heart and St. Michaels in South Sioux City, NE.  Rosemary loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 51 years, Earl, Sioux City; children: Ann Rosemeyer, Clear Lake, IA, Tammy (W. Shane) Flint, Mapleton, IA, Earl (Allison) McKinley Jr., Augusta GA, LeAnn Kilstrom, Marcus, IA; father James (Lois) Heller, Spencer, IA; grandchildren: JaKLyn Galley, Jessica Bates, Halie McKinley, Tori McKinley, Zach Kilstrom, David Frost, Kelly Rosemeyer, and Taylor Frost; and 8 great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.

She is preceded in death by her mother; 2 children April and David McKinley; brother, Eugene Heller; and maternal grandparents.
