Rosemarie Munson

Rosemarie Munson, 88, of Sioux City passed away peacefully at a local hospital on November 1, 2022.  A memorial service for Rosemarie and her husband James will be held Wednesday, November 9^th at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Parish-Church of the Nativity, 4242 Natalia Way, Sioux City, IA 51106.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is handling arrangements.  Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com. 

Rosemarie was born on April 10, 1934 in Ponca, NE to Julius and Regina (Kneifl) Stark.  She was raised in Newcastle, NE and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1952.  Rosemarie was united in marriage to James “Jim” Munson on April 9, 1977.  He preceded her in death in 2020.   Rose worked as a beautician for over 50 years.  In addition to being a beautician, she also sold Shaklee Vitamins for 40 years, and earned trips and even a few cars.  Rose loved to decorate and enjoyed painting, wallpapering, entertaining and designing flowers for weddings.  Rose especially loved spending time with her family, and was grateful for her first great-granddaughter, Mariah Tague, who lived with Rosemarie and James and helped them out.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: daughter, Kathy Camerer of Sioux City, IA; son, Roger (Roxane) Nelson of Battle Creek, Nebraska;  stepdaughter Myla (Tim) Jones of Blair, Nebraska; stepson, James (Barb) Munson Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Ben) Jenson of Logan, UT, James Munson of Lincoln, NE, Sarah Munson of Louisville, KY, Lori (Chad) Tague of Deltona, FL, Lisa Schmidt of Sioux City, Krista (Blake) Flewelling of Sioux City, Dan (Susan) Nelson of Thompson's Station, TN, Jake Nelson of Lincoln, NE, Tessa (Steve) Travers of Meadow Grove, NE, Katlyn (Takoda) Batenhorst of Madison, NE; great-grandchildren: Mariah Tague, Dakota (Justicey) Tague, Malia Schmidt, Lani Schmidt, Carter Flewelling, Kenzie Flewelling, Romey Nelson, Avery Nelson, Adalene Nelson, Daxton Nelson, Ella Nelson, Tressan Nelson, Keisha Nelson, and Bensen Batenhorst; siblings: Darlene Hendrick and Harold Stark.

 Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; daughter, Karen; 2 sister-in-law’s: Marian and Diane; brother-in-law, Carrol “Todd” Hendrick; and brothers: Paul and Raymond Stark.
