Ronney E. Livermore, the son of Carl and Irene (Green) Livermore was born on May 15, 1951, in Oto, Iowa. He passed away on September 6, 2024, at his residence in South Sioux City, Nebraska at the age of 73. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
After graduating from Anthon-Oto Schools, Ronney embarked on a career that would span across various roles. He began his journey in Sioux City, where he worked in the packing plants. With determination and an entrepreneurial spirit, he owned his own lawn service before transitioning to a position as a groundskeeper at Morningside College. Following his retirement from this role, Ronney exhibited his unyielding work ethic by returning to the workforce as a courtesy driver for Woodhouse Auto, demonstrating his commitment to service and connection with others.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Ronney was a devoted fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. His love for sports was rivaled only by his deep love of his family. He took great pleasure in engaging in activities with his children and grandchildren, always eager to support them in their endeavors. Ronney's favorite moments were spent traveling with his wife, Karen, creating lasting memories together. He embraced a variety of pastimes, which included fishing, riding his motorcycle, and utilizing his skills as a handy person.
Throughout his life, Ronney fostered relationships that brought joy to those around him. Known for his engaging personality, he became a regular at local businesses, where he enjoyed joking with patrons and forging connections. His participation in community activities extended to volunteering for Morningside Lutheran Church, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to others.
Ronney was exceptionally proud of his classic 1951 Chevy, the same year he was born, and found great joy in driving it around town.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; two children, Lori (Dennis) Scott and Rob Livermore; grandchildren, Shelby (Tim) Artz, Colby Powell, Lan Livermore, Zoey Livermore, Carson Lovig, and Edin Livermore (fiancé Kaleb Slosson); great-granddaughter Gabby Artz; stepchildren, Renee (Kent) Husted, Jennie (Nate) Pakan, and Tony (Stefanie) Hageman; step-grandchildren, Derek Husted, Alyssa Hageman, Clark Hageman, James Iverson, and Kyan Consbruck; and sister-in-law Vicki Livermore.
Ronney was preceded in death by his parents; sister Bev (Frank) Huth; and brother Doug Livermore. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support for his family will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.
A memorial service for Ronney will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
