  Ronald E. Zellers, 88, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away on April 16, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

  A visitation will be held on April 22, 2024, from 1-2PM and a brief funeral service will follow, at Morningside Meyer Brothers Funeral Home in Sioux City.    A private burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Sioux City.

  Ron was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Grace (Glanville) Zellers.  He graduated from Central High School and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Bourret, on January 15, 1955, in Sioux City.

  Ron worked as a glazier for most of his life.  He loved his family, sports and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

  Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley, and their five children:   (1) Rande (Theresa) Zellers of Apopka, Florida; (2) Renee Hadjis of Spirit Lake; (3) Rolle (Sherry) Zellers of Sioux City; (4) Ronna (Tom) Mosgrove of Star, Idaho; and (5) Ron C. (Cindy) Zellers of Arnolds Park.  He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

  Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

  The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Ron, and the ladies from Hospice who were very kind and helpful during this challenging time.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital (uihc.org).
