Ronald Lee Rasmussen

Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Rasmussen, 63, of Emerson, NE passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Pender, NE Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, NE.  Visitation with the family present will be from 10:00 A.M. until Mass time.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Ronnie was born March 27, 1960, in Sioux City, the son of Axel and Mary Rose (Goergen) Rasmussen.  He attended New Hope School, where he met his lifelong best friend of 52 years, Steve Bartels. 

Ronnie was forever a prankster, and his mischievous nature and jokes were contagious.  He loved Christmas and all the Christmas displays, lights, and celebrations.  His favorite meal was a Hardee’s Roast Beef and Dr. Pepper.  He was a Johnny Cash fan, and an avid Hee Haw fan.  Everything in Ronnie’s life had to be “perfect” and the world would stop until Ronnie was satisfied.  He was incredibly strong in substance and character – a huge presence in every life he touched.   

Survivors include his siblings:  Marilyn (Tom) Stadtmueller of Olathe, KS, Deanna (Tom) Hunter of Omaha, NE, Robert (Linda) Rasmussen of Monrovia, CA, Dolores (Jerry) Stinger of Omaha, NE, and guardian Jeanne (Ron) Davis of Jackson, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
