Ronald "Joe" Peters

Ronald “Joe” Peters, 67, of Sioux City passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, March 13, 2023, at a local care center.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 17, 2023 at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Kristine Stedje officiating.  Visitation with the family present will be Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joe was born March 7, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of George and Edythe (Bunch) Peters.  He graduated from North High School in 1975.  Joe received his associate degree in Police Science and attended the Sioux City Barber College.  He served in the Air National Guard for six years. Joe was a barber from 1987 until the time of his passing.  He also owned and operated JP Janitorial for 35 years.  Joe married Enola Grawburg on August 20, 1988 in Sioux City.  As a workaholic, Joe’s work was very important to him as well as his game of golf.  He was an avid golfer, took pride in his impeccable yard, and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.  Joe was a member of First Lutheran Church. 

Survivors include his wife Enola Peters of Sioux City; children:  Shannon Peters (Anthony) of Sioux City, Chad Peters (Kayla) of Sioux City, Leah (Jon) Beeman of Johnston, IA, and Abby (Matt) Kaschmitter of Sioux Falls, SD; twelve grandchildren:  Douglas, DeSean, Devon, Kristen, Madison, Jayden, Ava, Kenzie, Avery, Megan, Ryan, and Owen; eight siblings:  Judi Birkes, John Peters, Jacky DeWall, Jerri Morgan, Richard (Pat) Peters, Michael (Judy) Peters, Ginger (Jack) Waldschmidt, and Sandy Peters; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean, and two brothers:  George and Bill.

Memorials will be directed to Hope Lodge, 8030 Farnam Drive, Omaha, NE 68114.
