Ronald W. Carter

Ronald W. Carter, 69 of Laurel, formerly of Ponca, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023. A private burial will be at Dakota City Cemetery.

Ron was born the son of Lee and Mary Jo (May) Carter on October 2, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa. He received his education in the Dakota City and South Sioux City schools.

Ron lived most of his life in Ponca. He liked to fish and once road a ten speed bike to the Black Hills.

Ron is survived by his father, Lee Carter; siblings, Darrell (Linda) Carter of Elk Point, Larry Carter of Sioux City, Sandy (John) Smith of South Sioux City, Michael (LeAnn) Carter of Hinton, Sally (Tom) Boyd of North Sioux City, Pat (Penny) Carter of South Sioux City, and Alan Knecht of South Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
