Roger Cadwell, 85, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2026 with Military Honors at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Roger was born the son of Floyd and Rose (Dicus) Cadwell on January 5, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended Sioux City schools. Roger and his childhood sweetheart since the age of two, Janet (Gilson) Cadwell, were married on December 28, 1963, and shared many wonderful years together. Some of his happiest moments were the simple ones spent by her side. He especially enjoyed shopping with Janet and making memories together. They traveled Europe and made lasting memories together.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany with his wife. He was proud of his military service and the time he spent serving his country. He was an active guy who loved being outdoors and making the most of life. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, archery, and fishing. Some of his most treasured memories were the hunting trips he shared with his son, Scott. Those trips, along with their time spent outdoors together, created memories that Scott and the family will cherish forever.

He was also known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a jokester who loved to make people laugh and had a way of bringing humor into everyday moments. And anyone who knew Roger well would agree that he could be pretty stubborn when he had his mind made up, a trait that was simply part of what made him who he was. Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet; his daughter, Robin (Danny); his son, Scott (Becky); his daughter, Jill; and his grandchildren, Quade Hilton, Ashley, Gracie, and Cash Cadwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and five brothers.

Roger leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, stories, and adventures. His family will forever cherish the time they shared with him, the outdoor adventures he enjoyed, and the unique personality that made him so special. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
