Roger A. Beermann, 85, of Grand Island, formerly of Dakota City, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at a care center in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Salem Lutheran Church with Reverend Sandra Braasch officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Dakota City Cemetery.
Roger’s journey began on June 17, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was born into the loving care of his parents, Earl and Edith (De Vor) Beermann. From his earliest days, Roger’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on those privileged to know him.
Roger’s life was deeply rooted in family, and he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. A life-long farmer, Roger enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He loved all animals, especially his cats and dogs. Roger was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his sisters: Carole (Harold) Holmes of Papillion, NE and Diane Schwerin of Avon Park, FL; nephews: Bryan (Sherry) Holmes of Grand Island, NE and Jim (Dawn) Holmes of Omaha, NE, as well as several great nieces and great nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Edith Beermann and a brother-in-law Larry Schwerin.
